The best time to visit Kimmeridge Bay, located on Dorset’s jurassic coast, is in the winter. On my previous visit, in March 2011, I arrived early morning and I did the same on Saturday.

Kimmeridge Bay is about an hour from home and I spent some time taking shots of the bay and then walked up the steps past Clavell’s Tower and along the coast path. I wanted to use the Canon 16-35mm lens in the bay, against the light, which I did. I had used my Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 lens in March and I wanted to compare the shots as the scene was very similar.

I also wanted to take some 200mm shots from the coast path of rocks partially revealed from the receding tide and took those with a prime Canon 200mm f/2.8 lens this time. In this instance the light was not the same but the images are much better quality.
